“What is your compost?”

Life. Death. Birth. Rebirth. Growth. Decay.

The cycles of life and inevitability of change lie at the centre of our conversations with the remarkable Penelope Mavor. Through her business ‘Earth Converse’ she encourages individuals to move beyond our cultural denial of death and engage in real conversations with themselves and the earth.

Leadership coach and consultant; and founder of Earth Converse Penelope is on a life-long mission to help leaders best serve people and planet. Her nature work has been strongly influenced by the School of Lost Borders which offers vision fasts, guide trainings, and other programs that offer initiatory, transformational experiences to those seeking growth, insight, and restoration.

She has strong roots and wings; originating from New Zealand, spending time in United Kingdom, Italy and now resides in Spain. With a background in sustainability, she holds not one; but three (!) Masters in Regional and Resource Planning; a MBA in International Business; and Corporate and Business Coaching. Over the last 25 years she has worked in partnership with award winning and top leadership providers such as Common Purpose, Lane4 and Impact International.

Our conversations weave across the use of mirroring and metaphors in coaching, the inevitable and constant change of life, knowledge uncovered through medicine wheels, the mystery behind VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Chaotic and Ambiguous) and our human desire to leave legacy.

Our guest

Penelope heralds from New Zealand, having lived in United Kingdom, Italy and now resides in Spain. She has a background in sustainability, and has been working with leaders across continents, cultures and sectors for over 25 years. Through helping them have the conversations they need to.

She founded Earth Converse when it came clear to her that we are missing conversations between ourselves and the earth. That any issue (political, environmental, social, economic) has its roots in this disconnection. So standing on the shoulders of giants, she enjoys introducing people to whole systems, mindful, nature-based and outdoor coaching practices to help them remember the love and connection that exists. Particularly those leaders who are ready to step up to their people and planet responsibilities.

Penelope’s experience has included working with FTSE organisations, UN agencies, governments and not for profit organisations, also in partnership with award winning and top leadership providers. Aswell as deepening nature work with School of Lost Borders, the work of Bill Plotkin with Animas Valley and the Work That Reconnects.

She is a Professional Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and hold 3 Masters (a Masters in Regional and Resource Planning; a MBA in International Business, and a Masters in Corporate and Business Coaching).

Along her journey Penelope has created the #earthconversepodcast series and continues to write on the #earthconverseleadershipblog.

She sees every day as an opportunity to cultivate an intimately-expansive relationship with herself and the world.
