“I wanted to be the pebble in the pond that is the ripple of change, it means something to me”
Paul Jefferies, of Pebbles Associates, joins us for this episode of the Coaching Outdoors Podcast from his home in the Peak District.
Paul made the decision to become a coach following a health scare which lead to a realisation that a change of career was needed and, by using the Ikigai Framework (Passion, Mission, Vocation and Experience), that not just coaching, but outdoor coaching was his passion and his mission was to give something back.
We talk about the journey Paul took from being a corporate business leader to an outdoor coach, as well as the benefits he finds his clients gain from taking their coaching conversations outdoors.
Paul shares a multitude of great stories from his client’s experiences using metaphors, for example the importance of a leaf to one client and the use of terrain as a metaphor for change for another. Using water to talk about how to get from one place to another and using pace as an evocative way of letting clients process their thoughts.
Paul also delves into the power of walking side by side.
